A Runner's Circle: An Auspicious Manila Debut!

The best running gear store in the Los Angeles (CA) area, “A Runner’s Circle ” (ARC) has now opened shop in Manila and they can be found at Unit H, Aloha Hotel, Quirino Avenue near corner Roxas Boulevard, Manila. Voted as the No. 1 Best running gear store by MyFox LA for 3 years in a row, this store has been a fixture to runners in the Los Angeles area and are known for their excellent customer service.

ARC hopes to duplicate their success in catering to the needs of our local runners who would gain from the expertise of their staff who have either manned their main branch in LA or received training from them.

Last Saturday, i arrived at their store to attend their soft opening as various running groups were gathered for a 5k run from their shop to the Luneta park and back. I was invited by Vimz ( kulitrunner) as part of a group of bloggers/runners to cover the event. When i arrived, the first runners were already arriving from their 5kms+ jaunt and soon followed by other runners who were all wearing their complimentary red dri-fit ARC shirt. I got mine too, thanks to Robin Sargan, one of the store’s Manila representative.

A nice, big breakfast followed and a group street dance was held attracting a small array of onlookers who were amazed at the early proceedings (see pictures below). To cap things off, 3 running shoes were raffled off among many others, and this really got all runners who attended, standing on their feet to listen for their names. Congratulations to Ambow, Grace and Ellen for winning the shoes!

According to Robin, more brands of running shoe models and gear will be made available and hopefully get one of the most sought after shoe brand in the US, the SAUCONY running shoe in Manila once again. Moreover, they would be conducting activities here like a weekly Saturday fun run, running related lectures, promoting running events and maybe more raffles during these activities!

A Runner’s Circle is a welcome addition to the still growing running boom here in Manila.
