Early yesterday afternoon, i was able to claim my Run United2 race packet which just took all of 2 minutes in a very orderly fashion, thanks to the Runrio staff. I was with a few other runners trying to take advantage of the early afternoon lull, avoiding the rush i’m sure will deluge the venue later in the evening and the succeeding days prior to Sunday’s race event.
After that brisk time in the counters, i was led by a lady to check-out the race expo area which was still being continuously spruced-up. The expo area is only about 50% complete and the setting up of tents were still being completed. So i went inside to check out the booths. My first time at a fairly large running expo opened up one thing. You can find many gears not commonly found in our local running stores.
I’m talking about different designs of compression gears, tri-suits, bike helmets, with shoes for half the price and some free pass to a well-known fitness club.
Here’s what the expo looks like:

My race kit consisted of my bib no., a belt bag, my timing chip and the RU2 singlet which i’ll be wearing on Sunday. I wonder what the weather will be on race day as there’s a storm that has just entered the country. For sure, it’s going to be all wet and wild this Sunday.
Per conversation with Coach Rio dela Cruz, Race Director whom i got to talked with last week, their target of 5,000 runners for the 21k category have all been filled up, even exceeding the 4,000 21k runners they had last Run United1.
The Run United 2 Race Expo will only be up to June 16. The expo grounds is situated along Block 51, 9th Ave. corner 26th Street, BGC, Taguig City. Claimants should bring their registration receipt or confirmation email when claiming their race kits.

See you at the race!
Wow, mura ng trail shoes! 🙂
Yup, Thirdy. Saw several trail shoes, quality is good and at bargain prizes!:-)
Uncle sayang wala ako dyan, I should buy all my running shoes there, mas mura. I need almost 8 pairs of shoes in a year! Pag uwi ko sa Nov. hope there`s still on Sale.Do they have also brooks and asics on sale?
Hi Cecil! Yes, they have the whole range of Brooks and Asics here. Sa mga ultra and marathons ng tinatakbo mo, i think you may need 10 pairs! OK, 9 pairs for you–yung isa para sa akin! Hahah…
Very organized!!!! Reminds me of NYCM 2010!
Dante, i’m sure that the expo here is just like a convenience store compared to the Walmart-like vastness of the NYCm expos. I hope all other local marathons should have their own race expos as well.:-)
Thanks for dropping by!
ang swerte naman, nung pagpunta ko hindi pa nakatayo yung tent. Di ko tuloy nakita ung mga items sa expo 😦
Pedz, you still have until Sat. to visit. By then, baka complete na ang displays.:-)
That i’ve got to see…will drop by tom…thanks for the info Jazzrunner…
Thank you Yhet! I won’t be surprised if i see you joining an Ultra with Mel next time!:-)
Hi uncle rene, ganda naman ng expo, i like the 2xu/zoots booth it seems they are new arrivals, at least level up na si coach hehe…
Thanks, Chito. The 2XUs are wide ranging–for runners and triathletes. These are more practical to buy than buying an LV, right Raquel? Hahah..:-)
