Mt. Talamitam seems to be a very good introduction to those who wish to explore more trail venues in the CALABARZON area, particularly in Batangas where the other more well known mountain trail have been frequented, Mt. Batulao which is just a few kilometers away.

This coming December 21, 2014, Team Cavite E.S.E. , the group the brought us the highly successful Dash For The Elderly Half Marathon Trail Race in Silang, Cavite last month will now stage the Talamitam Trail Run Challenge, a 10+k assault of Mt. Talamitam having an elevation gain of about 650 MASL located in Nasugbu, Batangas.

While early bird registration had started yesterday, a cap has been placed on this event wherein only 150 to 200 runners will be accepted for this trail race so it’s advisable to register early to gain a sure slot.

From Team Cavite ESE’s FB page (, here’s a brief description on what to expect at Mt. Talamitam:

Mt Talamitam is located at KM 83, Sitio Bayabasan, Barangay Aga, Nasugbu Batangas. It has a maximum elevation of 630MASL. You will encounter a short muddy trail, then a few beautiful river crossings. After that, you will go into a thick vegetation trail path before going up into an open farm field in the middle of Mt Talamitam.

From here, the views are stunning with Mt Batulao on its sight…. moving forward, there are two trail paths going to the summit. One is called the “Matarik” trail (a challenging trail path but not that difficult) and the “Banayad” trail (from its name, you know its easy).

Once you reach the summit, the view of Batangas, Cavite and Laguna can be seen here. Mt Talamitam is a trail runner and hiker friendly. A recommended mountain to visit, it offers a lot of what nature lover is looking for.

Mt Talamitam is a 1 Hour and 15 minutes drive from Uniwide Coastal Terminal via Cavitex/Aguinaldo Hi-way/Tagaytay-Nasugbu Hi-Way without traffic.

Join us and help plant a tree for a better future.

Here’s a sneak peek of the trails as conducted by Race Director JC Igos and the Team Cavite ESE on a recent reconnaisance run along the route. Thanks to Michael Angelo of Team Cavite for providing us some pictures during their recon run!
