Pro Earth Run 2015: April 25, 2015 at MOA

The question that begs to be answered is what have you done for mother Earth lately?

People are now feeling the effects of global warming not because that is the way nature planned it but because the defenses built in her to protect us and give us safe haven, may have ceased to exist due to the wounds and scars that man himself inflicts on her.

As more people are becoming environmentally conscious, we should also do our part in creating an Eco-friendly society.

It is in this advocacy that the Pro Earth Run 2015, a 10k, 5k and 3k race to be held on April 25, 2015 at the MOA grounds  is being held once again to encourage people to do their part in producing a cleaner and greener earth so we can still change the course of the earth’s future.

Mother Nature provides all creatures, including us humans, with all the necessary materials we need in order to survive. How do you repay her?

Every April 22, the world celebrates Earth Day. It is the single biggest environmental celebration in the world participated in by more than 150 countries and over a billion people worldwide.

In the Philippines, the celebration focuses on the different environmental issues that we face as a country. The organizations, local government units, businesses, churches and schools that actively celebrate Earth Day form part Earth Day Network Philippines.

More than two thousand (2,000) entities from different sectors of Philippine society working for environmental protection and conservation and celebrating Earth Day to highlight their successes of the past year comprise the Network.

Pro Earth Run 2015 is an advocacy run to encourage people to Protect, Respect, and Oversee the sensible and sustainable care of Mother Earth. Proceeds of this event will go to the continuing environmental projects of the Earth Day Network Philippines, Incorporated.

Earth Day Network Philippines, Incorporated is the local counterpart of the global Earth Day Network International. It is a network organization that campaigns for environmental citizenship and spearheads the annual April 22nd Earth Day Celebration in the Philippines. It is in partnership with government agencies, non-government organizations, private corporations, academic institutions, religious groups, and environmental advocates.

Proceed will be used to fund the Earth Day Network Philippines, in support to its continuing environmental projects and eco-social initiatives such as Zero Basura Olympics, Trees4Life: Tubong Pinoy Reforestation Movement, Mini-Carbon Olympics, Watershed Restoration and Forest Conservation, and Re-Charge Tacloban.
