PRESS RELEASE:

Subic International Marathon Celebrates in 2015, A Legacy Edition

The Subic International Marathon (SIM) will be celebrating its 10th year “running” with the SIM Legacy Edition on November 21-22, 2015. The two-day event, happening inside the scenic Subic Bay Freeport Zone will showcase a night race (42k and 21k distances) on Saturday, November 21 and an early morning fun run (10k, 7k, 5k and 3k distances) the following day, Sunday.

This event will serve as a grand kick-off activity to Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority’s Anniversary celebration on November. The SIM Legacy Run, organized by PNP General Samson Tucay (Ret.) last 2008 was then a night marathon event for an intimate number of participants. It was a symbolic nod to continue and uphold the advocacy of running as a tool to transform lives.

This year, on its 10th anniversary, SIM organizers decided to bring back the Legacy Edition and give tribute to a decade of running for fun and transformation.

Capping this SIM Legacy Edition in November 2015, will be a festive celebration at the Remy Field Oval, the start and finish venue of the race event. Live bands and banchetto-styled booths await the general public and the heroic finishers of the 21k and 42k races, spilling well into the morning for the attendees of the fun runs.

Runners participating in this Legacy Edition will cement themselves too as part of SIM’s Legacy– a commitment to make a difference to the life of others through running. Portion of Registration fees goes directly to SIM’s beneficiaries: (1) Dilaab Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization working on reintegrating lost, abandoned an unloved street children to becoming positive citizens of society, (2) Bless Our Cops Foundation, a foundation creating a program that reignites the passion, discipline and God-fearing productivity of our Policemen, and (3) Bukas Loob Sa Diyos Covenant Community, a Subic-based group that holds constant seminars and activities that create meaningful impact to the lives of the community.
