In a move to revive Philippine bowling’s glorious days in the bowling international scene, the Philippine Bowling Federation (PBF) have partnered with Inquirer.net to form the latter’s newest channel, philbowling.inquirer.net. The collaboration was formed to advance the promotion and interest of tenpin bowling to the youth of today and revive the sport that was once a powerhouse of great individuals which bred bowling greats like Paeng Nepomuceno, Bong Coo, Rene Reyes, Arianne Cerdena, Liza Del Rosario, Biboy Rivera, Bec Watanabe, among many others.

Another aim of the partnership is to promote the sport at the grassroots level and have social media as another platform for the younger generation to appreciate its appeal where Filipino players can truly excel. Concurrent President, Steve Hontiveros was tasked to return and head the PBF. “Majority of the stakeholders wanted me to return to bowling to save this sport from oblivion so i’m here to accept that challenge again.

Philippine Olympic Committee President, Jose “Peping” Cojuangco

With the PBF and Inquirer.net Team
At present, the PBF is now a new re-organized group with Philippine Olympic Committee president Jose Cojuangco stepping in, giving new blood to salvage this stagnant sport. With the re-reinstatement of Mr. Hontiveros as President of PBF, they appointed Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto, himself a former World Cupper, as PBF chairman, and got the services of Paeng Nepomuceno as the national team’s head coach.
With the entry of Inquirer.net, the local tenpin bowling scene might just witness a “perfect game” after a very long time!
