Hanna Sanchez: 25KM Ultra Swim To Save Animals

Hanna Sanchez is probably the first local triathlete who has used her talent in swimming to raise funds and help treat abandoned animals for care and future adoption.
–
Animals  are near and dear to Hannah’s heart (she herself takes care of more than a dozen stray cats and dogs in her home) as she has been an active supporter of CARA (Compassion and Responsibility for Animals) Welfare Philippines.

Last year, she was able to raise more than P65,000.00 by swimming 13 hours straight (with 1 hour rest break) totaling 22.5kms and donating the proceeds to CARA.

Her feat last year

On August 16, 2014, Hannah will again attempt to duplicate the feat and add more to her time last year by attempting to finish a staggering distance of 25km and raise P100,000 through pledges, all for the sake of animal welfare.

She may be busy in her other aspects of life in work and training but these won’t stop her from giving back in a very personal and hands-on way of helping animals.

  2. On August 16, 2014, Hanna will swim for 14 hours straight, 6 AM-8 PM to complete the 25 kilometers; 500 laps on a 50m pool. At the end of the event, CARA will inform the donors and sponsors the lap count through email.
  3. You can donate the pledges through bank deposit, paypal, or drop-off in-kind donations at designated locations.
